- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 tablespoon organic olive oil
- 1 cup active gluten-free sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm water (adjust for consistency)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Gluten-Free Sourdough Starter (Takes 5–7 Days)
- Combine ½ cup flour and ½ cup water in a jar. Stir and cover loosely.
- Feed the starter daily with ¼ cup flour and ¼ cup water until it’s bubbly and has a mild sour smell (ready by Day 5).
2. Mix the Dough
- In a large bowl, mix the gluten-free flour blend and salt.
- Add the sourdough starter, warm water, and olive oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
3. Fermentation
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough ferment at room temperature for 8–12 hours (overnight).
4. Shape and Proof the Dough
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
- Place on a baking sheet or proofing basket. Cover and let proof for 1–2 hours.
5. Bake the Bread
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and preheat a Dutch oven if using.
- Transfer the dough to the Dutch oven or baking sheet. Score the top with a knife.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool completely before slicing.
